Training from Exeter Airport, and by arrangement at Eaglescott and Henstridge Airfields.
Since taking delivery of the first customer Cavalon in May 2013, this gyro has proved to be the most popular option for training here in the South West. With its spacious, comfortable, heated cabin, together with the all weather capability of Exeter Airport gives us a year round operating school. Exeter Airport is known locally for its micro climate; often still VFR when all around is marginal. This allows for more continuity in training than we had operating from only grass runways. Learning to fly from Exeter Airport also gives students valuable experience of radio technique when dealing with full Air Traffic Control, something that many pilots fear (unnecessarily!).
Nick also trains at Eaglescott Airfield in North Devon which is a fantastic all round facility with grass runways, club house and the wonderful Atlantic coast nearby. This quiet location is perfect for really getting to know your gyro, we can practice subtle handling techniques that simply wouldn't fit in with other traffic at Exeter or other locations.
Nick has also trained a number of pilots at Henstridge Airfield. Henstridge has long had an association with gyroplanes, being one of the well known bases for single seat training until the advent of two seat, factory built training gyros.
